The Arkadelphia Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, in the Goza Middle School cafeteria.

After recognizing several Badger Pride award recipients and a hearing of individuals and delegations, if there are any, the school board will have two action items to consider.

First is consideration of updating language in the district’s policies for licensed personnel. Of the 16 proposed documents up for consideration, most of the proposals are changes to language or the addition of parenthesized numerics.

Others add paragraphs to the existing policies, such as the district’s policies on employee training as it relates to bullying; filing employee grievances or workers’ compensation, and employees’ use of social media.

The school board is also set to consider a resolution adopting school board zone maps. Each of the single-member district zones includes documentation showing its population by race. If the school board OKs the zone plan and map, the Clark County Board of Election Commissioners will have final approval before filing with the Clark County Clerk’s Office.

Following any personnel matters, the school board will hear department reports as well as Superintendent Karla Neathery’s report.

Finally, the board will have a student disciplinary hearing.

The meeting is open to the public with the possible exception of personnel and the disciplinary hearing.
