The Literacy Council of the Ouachitas is making its free adult literacy services more accessible in Clark County with new weekly office hours at the Clark County Library.
Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, program coordinator Heather Kizziar will be available at the library every Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. Community members are invited to stop by to learn about available services, ask questions, get information about becoming a volunteer tutor, or find out how the Literacy Council can help someone they know.
The Literacy Council provides free educational services to adults who want to strengthen their reading, writing, math, English language, and workplace skills. The organization also works with trained volunteer tutors to provide individualized support based on each learner’s needs and goals.
“One of my biggest goals is to make sure people in Clark County know these services are available and know how to access them,” Kizziar said. “Having regular hours at the library gives people a place where they can easily stop by, ask questions, and learn more about what we can offer.”
No appointment is necessary during the weekly office hours.
Community members, businesses, and organizations interested in learning more about the Literacy Council, referring someone for services, or getting involved as a volunteer are also encouraged to stop by.
