Okolona under boil order

Effective 11:17 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2026, Okolona Waterworks was placed under a boil order by the Arkansas Department of Health.

Users of the system should boil their tap water for 3-5 minutes prior to using it. Store the cooled, boiled water in a clean, closed container.

The boil order is due to a pump malfunction. The area impacted includes the entire Okolona Waterworks system.

Until the boil order is lifted, avoid using tap water for drinking, making ice or mixing baby formula. Do not wash fruits and vegetables with the tap water, and do not make coffee using the tap water. Use bottled or boiled water for brushing teeth.
