Dispatch Desk: June 17-30

The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Arkadelphia Police Department

Monday, June 24
Police investigated a terroristic act at an unlisted address. No further information was given as felony incident reports are not available for public inspection at the Arkadelphia Police Department.

4:11 p.m.
Aaron Dean Johnson, 40, of Arkadelphia, was cited at Walmart for theft of property following a store complaint of a shoplifter who stole two cans of mixed vegetables.

Tuesday, June 25
Police responded to an aggravated assault at the 800 block of Crittenden Street. No additional information was included in the report as felony incidents at the Arkadelphia Police Department are not available for public inspection.

7:16 p.m.
A woman reported receiving threatening messages on social media from a known male.

7:20 p.m.
A fight between civilians outside the police department led to the citation of Coleman James Cole, 31, of Hot Springs. The complaining male was reportedly outside APD when Cole drove up and proceeded to engage in a fight, biting him on the jaw and taking him to the ground. Police located Cole at 19th and Walnut streets, where he was taken into custody after refusing medical treatment to an abrasion on his head; he did request treatment while at the jail. The other party was transported to the hospital.

8 p.m.
A realtor reported someone hurled a rock through the window of an occupied rental property on North 15th Street.

Wednesday, June 26
Juvenile report: Leaving the scene of an accident

1:07 p.m.
A woman reported the theft of her antipsychotic medication, most likely by a known male who had the pills on his person when he was booked into the county jail on June 5.

Thursday, June 27
3:20 a.m.
A Logan Street couple reported broken windows of two separate storm doors on the front of their house.

12:38 p.m.
A North 13th Street woman reported a black male had just stolen her push lawnmower, giving police a description of the suspect’s clothing. An officer located the suspect, identified as 69-year-old Ray Barrett Willis, pushing a mower at 12th and Cutler streets; he said he took the mower because it was abandoned. Upon review of camera footage from the victim’s residence, Willis was arrested and transported to jail for charges of theft of property. The mower was returned to the owner.

3:22 p.m.
A realtor reported a broken window at a vacant North 22nd Street home. The responding officer noted a rock inside the residence in front of the window.

Friday, June 28
12:07 a.m.
Officers responded to a Walnut Street residence for a report of domestic abuse. A male suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival, and a search of the area was unfruitful.

Police investigated the theft of a firearm at the 1000 block of South 16th Street. No further details were available as felony incident reports are not available for public inspection at the Arkadelphia Police Department.

12:16 p.m.
A hit-and-run accident was reported at Pine and Caddo streets across from Pine Plaza. An officer located and cited the suspect, Lynnea Ann Looper, 48, of Bismarck, for leaving the scene of an accident.

5 p.m.
The property manager of Ouachita Village Apartments, 11 Cypress Dr., reported someone had attempted to break into the office. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Sunday, June 30
8:55 a.m.
Officers were summoned to Pine Court Apartments, 120 N. 20th St., for a woman’s complaint that a neighbor had been yelling at her through his door. Police spoke with the suspect, who said the complainant had charged at him while he was on his porch; he also complained of a third party he said yells at night and leaves concerning notes on his door. Police also spoke with the third party, who said the male was harassing her. All parties were instructed to leave each other alone.

Police investigated a second-degree battery on Welch Street. Further information was not available as felony incident reports are not available for public inspection at the Arkadelphia Police Department.

Monday, June 24
6:44 p.m.
A South Fork Truck Stop employee reported that a customer — disgruntled because he was denied a refund for a ratchet strap he couldn’t figure out how to assemble — shoved an ice cream bar into the card reader of a fuel pump and drove off.

Tuesday, June 25
9:15 a.m.
A Hot Springs man employed at Veolia reported a missing or stolen wallet from his vehicle on June 21.

Wednesday, June 26
10:26 a.m.
A car burglary was reported at the 3000 block of Highway 67 South. An unknown amount of spare change was stolen, and the contents of the glove compartment were in the floorboard.

8:13 p.m.
A man reported witnessing someone baling hay on his Hobgood Road property, and provided a deputy with the suspect’s license plate number. The incident was listed as criminal mischief.
