The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Monday, June 10
1:12 p.m.
A courthouse employee reported being the recipient of unwanted advances from a citizen. The employee was advised to call the police department should the citizen return.
1:30 p.m.
A South 22nd Street woman reported that her cat was killed, likely by one or two dogs that had been roaming the neighborhood that morning. She said she had left and that when she returned she discovered the deceased feline on the floor. The reporting officer noted paw prints throughout the house that were too large to be the cat’s.

Juvenile report: Theft of Property less than $1,000, North 22nd Street
Wednesday, June 12
11:08 a.m.
A Caddo Street (1800 block) woman reported waking to find her ex-boyfriend leaving the residence after breaking a living room window. Police made contact with the ex on South 18th Street, and he admitted to breaking the window but noted that he, too, lived there. He was served with a non-stamped warrant but no further action was taken.
Police investigated the theft of a firearm at 19th Street. No further details were included in the incident report as the Arkadelphia Police Department does not provide information contained within felony incident reports.
2:15 p.m.
Police responded to a civil dispute between a pair of Forrest Park Drive neighbors. The complaining party said her neighbor had violated a no contact order, although no such order was located on file. An officer spoke with the neighbor, who said he had made contact with the complainant in order to resolve past disputes. He agreed not to make further contact with the reporting neighbor.
Thursday, June 13
1:45 p.m.
Officers responded to a Sylvia Street residence for a complaint of unwanted hedge trimming by her neighbor’s hired lawn care worker. The neighbor told an officer the worker was unaware of where the property line was. The complainant said the neighbor hired someone a few months ago to cut a tree in the complainant’s yard without permission, and estimated the total damages to be in the ballpark of $2,200. The complainant was advised to contact the city attorney’s office to pursue criminal charges and to seek avenues for a civil process.
4:30 p.m.
A woman reported an attempt had been made to use her identity to take out a loan through Discover Bank.
8:31 p.m.
A Carpenter Hill Apartments woman reported being attacked by a known female during a child exchange at Tiger Mart, 201 N. 10th St. An officer reviewed surveillance footage showing the ladies trading punches. No further action was taken at the time of the report.
Friday, June 14
3:09 p.m.
Tyshenna Marie Anderson, 19, and Lakayla Shunta Flowers, 23, both of Magnolia, were cited at Walmart for theft of property following a report of a pair of shoplifters attempting to leave the store without paying for $80 worth of merchandise.
Juvenile report: Criminal Trespass, 1100 block of Clinton Street
11:29 p.m.
Marlinda Francis, 56, of Arkadelphia, was arrested at Splash Car Wash, 121 W.P. Malone Dr., for DWI and possession of marijuana following officers’ response to a report of someone passed out in a vehicle in the automatic car wash bay.
Saturday, June 15
1:15 a.m.
A Thompson Road woman reported being threatened by several known individuals.
8:54 p.m.
Officers were summoned to a residence at 25th Street Circle for a known male trying to fight people during a cookout. Police made contact with the aggressor, who denied causing any problems, and instructed him to stay away from the residence for the remainder of the evening.
Sunday, June 16
1:09 p.m.
A Splash Car Wash customer reported that an overhead brush in the automatic bay came down with excessive force, resulting in damage to his vehicle’s luggage rack, antenna and spoiler.
6:05 p.m.
An officer responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the parking lot at 1035 Village Dr. Upon arrival it was learned that the two involved were bickering and that no physical altercation had taken place.

Wednesday, June 12
12:20 p.m.
A South 3rd Street man reported receiving a threatening phone call from a known suspect. He was advised of the procedure to obtain a no contact order. A deputy’s attempt to contact the suspect was unfruitful.
Sunday, June 16
2:06 a.m.
Gary Donald Gantt, 60, of Rufe, Oklahoma, was cited at the 66 eastbound mile marker of Interstate 30 for driving with fictitious tags, no liability insurance, failure to maintain control and obstruction of the vehicle interior. A deputy was summoned to the location for a report of an occupied vehicle in the median and found an initially unresponsive Gantt behind the wheel. The deputy noted in a report that Gantt’s failure to maintain control of the vehicle is what caused him to drive into the median. Gantt was transported to Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia for treatment to potentially minor injuries.
