It was also announced that the essay written by Payton Francis has been selected as the Arkansas State Winner.
High school faculty members and students chose each school’s Good Citizen by vote. Selection was based on leadership, dependability, service and patriotism.
Barbara Martin Slaughter’s quilt block was recently chosen as the Arkansas state winner for assembly in the National America 250! Quilt Project for the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The Arkadelphia Chapter will mark Constitution Week with a special speaker for its Sept. 13 meeting and will participate in a ceremonial “bell ringing” on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church
Three seniors from local high schools received Good Citizen awards from the Arkadelphia Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution at a tea and chapter meeting Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Dawson Cooperative in Arkadelphia.
