The 2026 Award for Excellence in Community Service was presented to Nellene Roberts by the Arkadelphia Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
Roberts’ faithful service in multiple organizations resulted in her nomination for this annual award presented by the Arkadelphia Chapter.
The Ecumenical Food Pantry, Arms Around Arkadelphia, and Clark County Retired Teachers Cereal Drive are just a few of Roberts’ local volunteer activities. As a member at First United Methodist Church, she has also served on numerous committees and recently was 2025 Chair of the Trustee Committee. She has also served with Meals on Wheels, DeGray Lake Shoreline Cleanup, the Walkathon for the Arkadelphia Human Development Center, and continues to benefit our community through her participation in several clubs and societies.
Roberts received a certificate and lapel pin from the Arkadelphia DAR Chapter on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, followed by a time of fellowship. Many family members and area friends from the Clark County Retired Teachers and Historical Association attended expressing their support and appreciation.
