A local Arkadelphia couple were awarded the Historic Preservation Certificate from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution on Thursday, June 4, at the celebration tea recognizing Arkadelphia Chapter on the occasion of their 110th Anniversary held at Blakelytown Event Venue.

Angie Dennis, National Vice Chair of the American Heritage Committee, made the announcement and introduced Billy and Kathie Bunn as the recipients of this award. Charline Manning, Arkansas State Regent, presented the certificates to the Bunns.

Billy Bunn then shared with those in attendance some of the interesting facts about unique items around the Blakelytown property and their efforts to secure and preserve lighting fixtures, outbuildings, and fences. Historic preservation is one of the emphases of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution along with promoting education, patriotism, and American history.
