The Arkadelphia Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently presented its 2025 Community Service Award to Spencer Bennington for his volunteer work with Lighthouse Ministries in Arkadelphia. According to Lighthouse Director Debbie Files, Spencer has been a faithful volunteer for three years and is particularly important to the work of the Lighthouse food pantry and furniture ministries.
Shirley Grant Hardin, Community Service Committee Chair, made the presentation during the regular May meeting held at the Second Baptist Church in Arkadelphia.
Spencer Bennington is the son of Madeline and Jeff Bennington of Arkadelphia. Family members attending the meeting also included his grandmother, Jo Long, and his sister, Caroline.
Founded in 1890, DAR promotes historic preservation, education, patriotism and service.
Terri Hagood serves as Chapter Regent for the Arkadelphia Daughters of the American Revolution.
