The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Monday, June 16
9:44 a.m.
Officers responded to a single-vehicle accident at the junction of Mill Creek and Druid Hills drives. The vehicle damaged two mailboxes and a landscaping rock during the crash. The report does not indicate whether a citation was issued.
Wednesday, June 18
1:18 a.m.
Officers were called to a disturbance at Chateau Apartments, 218 N. 11th St. Upon arrival a policeman observed two occupied cars facing “nose to nose” on 11th Street, a one-way thoroughfare. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle facing the wrong direction. The driver reported that her boyfriend struck her in the eye and fled into an apartment. She was advised to follow up with the prosecutor’s office. An officer spoke with a female tenant of the apartment where the boyfriend reportedly ran to, offering that the lady had been known to cause parking issues and problems over the boyfriend. A consented search of that apartment and the neighborhood for the boyfriend was fruitless.
9:25 a.m.
A dog attack prompted police response to 1751 O’Connell St., where a next-door neighbor told officers that her dog, a Dogo Argentino, had jumped the fence separating their yards, and attacked and killed the neighbors’ dog, a Rottweiler, before anyone could intervene. Animal Control took possession of the Dogo Argentino and delivered it to a veterinarian for euthanization.

12:29 p.m.
Police were requested at Walmart for a complaint of a shoplifter who had been detained for “skip-scanning” merchandise at a self-checkout register. After reviewing security footage and getting an admission of the theft, Judy Rogers, 70, of Bismarck, was cited for theft of property and banned from the store.
3:43 p.m.
Officers were called to Southern Bancorp’s Pine Street branch, where a person banned on June 9 had returned to the property. Upon arrival police observed Jeremy Gutzler, 45, of Arkadelphia, standing at a teller window inside the bank lobby. He was taken into custody on sight for the charge of criminal trespass. A bank employee told an officer that Gutzler didn’t have an account and had no legitimate business being on the property.
4:45 p.m.
Officers were called again to Walmart for another shoplifting complaint of a customer “skip-scanning” merchandise. Makenna Sierra Denofrio, 22, of Opelousas, Louisiana, was cited for theft of property and banned from the store.

Thursday, June 19
2:11 a.m.
An officer conducted a traffic stop at 18th and Pine streets, where a westbound pickup was traveling without headlights or taillights. The driver, Angela G. Gray, 50, of Arkadelphia, was observed acting “jittery and extremely excited and worried”. While Gray searched for her ID the policeman observed a glass pipe at the console, and got consent to search the vehicle. Gray handed the officer the pipe as she exited the vehicle, and was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
1 p.m.
A Brookshire’s customer went to the police station to report leaving her cell phone at the grocery store. She returned to retrieve it and to inquire with employees whether someone had turned it in, but it was gone. She had her daughter track the phone’s whereabouts using the Life360 app, showing it to be at a Dickerson Road, Okolona, residence. Another officer traveled to Okolona and knocked at several doors along Dickerson Road, but had no luck. Later, the sheriff’s office advised that someone had called to notify she had inadvertently picked up a phone thinking it was hers. An officer retrieved the phone and returned it to its rightful owner.
9:51 p.m.
Police were called to Elliston Place Apartments, 222 N. 20th St., for a report an intoxicated resident attempting to drive with minors. Upon arrival officers made contact with 25-year-old Faith Beatrice Russell, who was visibly intoxicated and was instructed to enter her apartment while officers spoke with multiple neighbors who advised that Russell had attempted to leave the apartments with minors. A neighbor took and hid Russell’s car keys to prohibit her from getting behind the wheel. While one officer took a statement from Russell she became beligerent, exiting her apartment and causing a scene in the hallway. She was taken into custody for public intoxication.
Saturday, June 21
5:34 p.m.
Walmart complained of a shoplifter, and provided officers with two receipts: one for items Latalia Chenae Montgomery, 31, of Arkadelphia, had paid for, and another for items she had not. Montgomery was cited for theft of property and released with a court date.
7:42 p.m.
Police took a delayed report from a man who said his wife had choked him two days prior. An officer observed healing injuries on his throat. The complainant was advised to follow up with the prosecutor’s office.
