School board president Casey Motl addressed the nurses, saying, “We wanted to extend an extra measure of appreciation for the risks you take every day to help keep our students and our employees safe, the knowledge that you bring to this district in terms of guiding our policy-making decisions with regard to our health protocols, and just the heart that you show in loving our students and our people. It means a lot to us.”

Each of the school nurses was awarded a certificate, as well as a gift basket themed for relaxation. School board member Gina White reached out to several community businesses to provide the nurses with gifts. The baskets included a gift certificates from Patterson Federal Credit Union, LTC Nails and Hamburger Barn, as well as bath bombs and soaps from The Farmhouse and Hardman Interior, and a 30-minute massage.
