Dispatch Desk: Peake teachers get crossways in the hallways

The following incidents were gathered from reports filed May 4-10, 2026, at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Arrested or cited individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names, so don’t even think about asking. 

Arkadelphia Police Department 

Monday, May 4

1:15 p.m.
A Gurdon woman went to the police station to report she had been in a shoving match with a male cousin at the Hemphill Road boat ramp.  Officers went to the boat ramp and met the cousin, who offered the same account of the incident. Police relayed the complainant’s message that the cousin was no longer welcome on her property.

Tuesday, May 5

4:22 a.m.
Officers were called to the 2700 block of Walnut Street for a report of a suspicious white male walking around vehicles. The individual was located at 2711 Walnut St. knocking on the front door of the residence. The suspect identified himself and said he was looking for somewhere to get warm. He was given a courtesy transport to the Pilot Travel Center in Caddo Valley. That afternoon the caller, following up with the resolution of his complaint, said his wife had found the wanderer sleeping in a bed inside their residence.

8:11 a.m.
Police were called to A-Town Fitness, 2750 Pine St., for a report of a known trespasser who had been going to the establishment at night and scanning his expired ID card to gain entry into the gym. Surveillance footage showed the former customer, who was permanently trespassed in July 2025, as he swiped the card numerous times, then waving an existing customer over to let him in.

10:30 a.m.
A South 26th Street food truck operator complained that someone cut the electrical service line from the base of the establishment. The repairs were estimated to cost $700.

11:30 a.m.
Officers were called to Clinton and 4th streets for reports of a couple fighting in the street. Police arrived and heard from witnesses that the couple had left the scene and were headed to the male’s residence at River Walk Apartments, 201 S. 1st St. There, officers spoke with the involved parties. Observing physical injuries on the male, it was determined to arrest the female, Breasia Shanice Moody, 19, of Gurdon, on charges of third-degree domestic battery. That night, the male flagged down a deputy sheriff at Winner’s Circle on Caddo Street to demand Moody, who had since been released, be arrested again for airing their business on a social media livestream. The male was instructed to block and ignore her, to contact police should she contact him, and to follow up with a domestic violence coordinator the next morning. Dissatisfied with officers’ answers and the fact they weren’t arresting his ex, the male became irate, chasing after police as they drove from the parking lot and beating on their car windows. He was not arrested.

1:34 p.m.
Police were summoned to Walmart for a store complaint of a pair of shoplifters who skip-scanned some merchandise at self-checkout. Tamatha Louise Caldwell, 55, and Jimmie Anthony Bourgeois, 51, both of Bismarck, were arrested for theft of property and banned from Walmart properties.

2:18 p.m.
A female reported being the ongoing victim of harassment by a known male.

3:42 p.m.
A Walmart customer reported leaving his wallet behind the day prior and returning to retrieve it, discovering $300 in cash was missing. Asset protection said he would review footage for a possible suspect.

Wednesday, May 6

Felony incident still under investigation: Forgery, Walmart

12:15 p.m.
Management at Fairfield Inn & Suites, 258 Red Hill Road, reported housekeeping had found a bag containing a firearm that a guest had left behind. An officer took custody of the weapon and entered it into a crime database as a recovered firearm.

5:25 p.m.
A caller advised a male was slumped over in a vehicle outside Dollar General, 2727 Caddo St. An officer tapped on the vehicle window, rousing the person awake, and observed an open alcoholic beverage between his knees. The person, identified as Wakanda Morris Davidson, 69, of Arkadelphia, was arrested for drinking in public, and his vehicle was towed from the scene.

Thursday, May 7

Juvenile report: Runaway

4:44 p.m.
An officer heard a woman’s complaint of harassing text messages she received from a known female.

Felony incident still under investigation: Theft of a motor vehicle, Robin Lane

9:53 p.m.
An officer took a report of thefts from Winner’s Circle, 104 N. 10th St. After speaking with cashiers there and at Tiger Mart, the policeman was able to identify the suspects, but were unable to locate them at the time of the report.

Juvenile report: 3rd-degree domestic battery

Friday, May 8

7:50 a.m.
A Peake Elementary School teacher reported being in a verbal altercation with a fellow teacher outside the classrooms, prompting the fellow teacher to involve the school principal. The complainant said that, when the principal called the two in for a meeting, the colleague made verbal threats to “beat her [expletive] a**”, adding that her daughter would be in the parking lot waiting to fight her after school. Feeling threatened, the teacher informed law enforcement, who advised her to file charges with the prosecutor’s office.

Saturday, May 9

4:18 p.m.
A Crawford Street couple reported returning home to find their storm door window pane shattered.

5:14 p.m.
Patrolling the three-way intersection of Forest Park and Millcreek drives, an officer observed a red Dodge Charger turn onto Forest Park without stopping at the sign, and attempted a traffic stop. The SUV turned onto Village Drive, where the passenger door opened and a male exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area toward 1008 Village Dr. The vehicle continued another 1,000 feet before coming to a stop. The driver, Donald Haynie, 27, of Gurdon, was ordered out of the vehicle and detained. A whiff of marijuana gave the officer reason to search the vehicle. Though no marijuana was located, a keychain was seized as evidence; Haynie said it didn’t belong to him and that he didn’t know the name of his passenger, whom he claimed to have picked up on the side of the road. Haynie, who did not possess a driver license, was cited for failure to obey a stop sign, no liability insurance and driving without a license. Officers allowed a friend to transport him home while the vehicle remained on scene. A tracking K9 unit was deployed to locate the fleeing passenger, but soon lost scent before the search was called off.

Felony incident still under investigation: Theft of motor vehicle, 2500 block of Walnut Street

8:06 p.m.
Officers were called to a street fight at the 2300 block of Crawford Street. Police arrived and made contact with Kyle Wilson, who said he was the victim of an attack by a known male. Wilson, 39, had several scratches on his neck as a result of the altercation. He refused medical treatment and was given a courtesy transport to a friend’s home on Hartford Drive. Police returned to the scene and spoke with other witnesses, learning that Wilson had been the aggressor and that the altercation stemmed from a domestic disturbance involving Wilson, also the alleged aggressor. Police returned to Hartford Drive to locate Wilson, learning that he had gone to an abandoned property across the street. No luck finding him there, police learned at 11 p.m. that Wilson had returned to his Crawford Street residence. He was arrested there on charges of first-degree assault, third-degree battery, assault on a family or household member, endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

8:59 p.m.
A woman reported she had been the recipient of antagonizing text messages from a known female.

Sunday, May 10

Juvenile report: Missing person

11:20 a.m.
A Houston, Texas, man reported losing his wallet, possibly the previous night while he was at Stuckey’s on West Pine Street. The wallet contained various forms of identification, including his green card/visa.

Sunday, May 3

8:40 p.m.
A deputy assisted a Caddo Valley officer with a vehicle accident on Arkansas Highway 283 outside the city limits. The vehicle was located near the Sharp Road intersection with multiple disabling damages. Going off of tire marks that led from the county line to the scene of the crash, deputies deduced that the accident happened in Hot Spring County. The report does not indicate what caused the accident, nor does it specify why the driver, Latane Alicia Roberts, 39, of Lamesa, Texas, was taken into custody. Booking records show Roberts was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest.
