Severe weather will be possible on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, across the entire state of Arkansas, the National Weather Service in Little Rock warned.
A powerful storm system and cold front will approach the region on Tuesday, brining warm, moist and unstable air from the Gulf Coast. If the environment destabilizes enough, severe weather — including tornadoes — will become likely.
The greater risk for severe weather will be across portions of central Arkansas with a higher likelihood of severe weather across most of southern Arkansas.
All modes of severe weather will be possible, the weather service said. The most widespread hazard across Arkansas will be the risk for damaging wind gusts.
An early arrival of rain Tuesday morning could keep the atmosphere from becoming unstable. If rain arrives later or progresses more slowly to the east, destabilization will occur.
Arkadelphia’s Tuesday forecast calls for a 40% chance of showers after 3 a.m., with winds between 5-15 mph and gusts as high as 25 mph. Showers and thunderstorms are expected before 2 p.m., with some severe storms possible with heavy rainfall. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. New rainfall amounts between 1-2 inches are possible.
Aside from a steady wind and gusts of up to 30 mph, local weather should calm by Tuesday night, with a low around 40.
Sunny skies will return Wednesday morning, with a cool high of 53 and a nighttime low around 30. Temperatures will warm to the low 60s and 70s as the workweek comes to an end.
