Pleasant weekend ahead, temp-wise

One more day of hot weather is expected Friday for portions of southwest Arkansas before a backdoor cold front sweeps across the state from the northeast. With the passage of this front, temperatures will be pleasant over the weekend with most high temperatures remaining below 90 degrees.

A cold front will begin to push through the area on Saturday, bringing cooler and drier weather to the state through Sunday, the National Weather Service in Little Rock said.

The mercury will rise again mid next week in Arkadelphia, with highs in the mid 90s by Tuesday. Nighttime temperatures will be much cooler, dropping to the 70 degree mark.

No precipitation is in the forecast for the next seven days.
