An Arkadelphia resident struck Thursday afternoon while attempting to cross a busy intersection suffered what appeared to be minor injuries.
Police have not identified the pedestrian, citing an ongoing investigation into the accident; we’re told his identity will be given once he is released from Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia.
The man, using a cane, was crossing Pine Street headed south from Tiger Mart when a northbound motorist turning west onto Pine from North 10th Street struck him. According to police, witnesses described the accident as minor, as the vehicle completely stopped as it “pushed” the pedestrian down.
The accident happened at about 5 p.m. on Aug. 8, 2024.
Police said the driver, a juvenile, was following traffic laws and was not driving distractedly.
