This post has been updated to include the names of those who submitted a letter of interest.
The Arkadelphia Board of Education has called a special meeting for Thursday, July 13, with one lone item on the agenda.
The board will review letters of interest for an open position on the school board.
Longtime board member Jeff Root resigned from the Zone 4 post in June.
Board president Blake Bell released the names of the applicants: Jeremy Greer, Lori Smith, Emily Merryman and Jamal Brown.
The school board is expected to meet in executive session to discuss the applicants. While the applicants will not participate in that discussion, the school board could invite applicants into the session to speak with them individually.
The meeting will begin at 5:15 p.m. in Dawson Building #3, 700 Clinton St.
