A Clark County nonprofit organization is planning a community-wide Christmas Cantata, but first it hopes to recruit some talent.

Singers are needed to participate in the event, titled “City of Light”, which will include two performances at the Blakelytown event venue on Saturday, Dec. 10. Rehearsals start Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the office of Women of Prayer United, 2503 Pine St. Suite 3, Arkadelphia.

Six one-hour practices will lead up to the performances directed by Will and Janie Thompson. The practices will be held each Tuesday evening beginning at 6:30 p.m. and will exclude the week of Thanksgiving.

“We believe this will be a wonderful opportunity for building Christmas spirit and drawing the community together at a really lovely venue,” said Mike Martin, pastoral overseer of Women of Prayer United.
