Austin man wins $25,000-a-year-for-life from lottery

Edrick Tan of Austin purchased a $2 Lucky for Life® lottery ticket on the Jackpocket app for the July 21 drawing and won $25,000-a-year-for-life. When he claimed his prize last week at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center, he elected to take the cash option of $390,000.

The winning numbers for that drawing were 19, 24, 25, 29 and 31, with the Lucky Ball being 8. Tan matched the first five numbers without the Lucky Ball.

Tan said he recently downloaded the Jackpocket app due to a recommendation from a friend and seeing the Lucky for Life game advertised on Facebook.

“I play the lottery maybe once or twice a year; however, this was my first purchase through the app,” he said. “Despite receiving an email and phone call from Jackpocket stating that I won the second-tier prize, I didn’t think the win was real until I came to claim my winnings.”

He plans to save and invest for his children with his lottery prize.

Someone is holding a Natural State Jackpot ticket worth $75,000. The winning ticket was sold at Jordan’s Kwik Stop, 147 Valley in Arkadelphia for last Thursday’s drawing. The winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim his prize.
