RUSSELLVILLE — Ouachita Baptist University freshman women’s basketball player Aspen Thornton has been selected to the Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association All-Region Second Team.
Thornton made a memorable mark in her first collegiate season, setting a new Ouachita record with an average of 23.4 points per game, and tying the school record with 608 total points.
The Hot Springs native led all of NCAA Division II in scoring throughout the 2021-22 season except for one week, and currently holds more than a full point lead in points per game as the NCAA tournament gets underway this week.
Last week, she earned first team All-Great American Conference honors and was named the league’s freshman of the year. Read more about that selection and the rest of her season accolades here: https://bit.ly/3sANknK.
