ARKADELPHIA — The Ouachita Baptist University women’s soccer team won its third consecutive match on Sunday at home by a final score of 3-0 over the University of Texas at Tyler.

All three goals for the Tigers (3-1-1) came in the second half.

The first goal came at the 50:32 mark on a header by Josilyn Kispert from a corner pass from Gracen Turner. It was Kispert’s first goal of the season and seventh of her career.

The second goal came on a free kick by Jaymee Dotson at the 60:35 mark following a UT-Tyler foul just outside of the penalty area. It was Dotson’s third goal of the season and 17th of her four-year career.

The final goal came at the 65:22 mark with Jamie Fowler knocking the ball in the net from the assist of Sydni Perry.

UT-Tyler (2-1) more than doubled Ouachita’s shot total at 30-12, but only held a slim 11-8 advantage in shots on goal.

Michele Snow and Carina Chavarria helped Ouachita secure its third consecutive shutout victory. Snow had nine saves. Chavarria had two.

The Tigers enter into Great American Conference play this Thursday, Sept. 25, at home against Harding. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Kluck Field.
