Dispatch Desk: July 8-14

The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Sunday, July 7
2:34 p.m.
An officer took a report of a shattered window on the north side of Crye-Leike Pro Elite Realty’s office, 203 S. 26th St.

Juvenile report: Terroristic Threatening 2nd Degree

Tuesday, July 9
8:11 p.m.
An Arkadelphia woman reported a hit-and-run of her parked vehicle while shopping at Dollar General, 2727 Caddo St. The responding officer reviewed surveillance footage that showed a white SUV back out of a parking space on the east side of the store, striking the complainant’s door and driving away toward 26th Street.

Police investigated a report of a stolen firearm at the 500 block of South 9th Street. No further details were available in the report as the Arkadelphia Police Department does not allow public inspection of felony incident reports.

Wednesday, July 10
7:43 p.m.
After a cleaning service made her aware of it, the Clark County Health Unit administrator reported a back exterior door had been damaged, rendering the locking mechanism useless. The responding officer took note of a window screen that had been removed from one side of the building, as well as pry marks at a window on the opposite side of the building. The officer, unable to gain access to the building because of the damaged door, was unable to ascertain whether the suspect gained entry.

9:41 p.m.
An officer was summoned to a residence at the 400 block of North 16th Street for someone wanting to move a vehicle. Upon arrival the officer noted Renethea Moore, 60, of South 16th Street, in a black helmet and tossing papers in the air and a black SUV still in the roadway. Moore was reportedly yelling death threats at another female. Asked to have a seat in the backseat of the patrol unit, she did so without incident. The complainant said she was unaware why Moore was there or what the papers were. The responding officer gathered the papers and took note that they were police reports about Moore dating to 2022. Moore’s vehicle, parked halfway in the street, was towed from the scene. She was cited for disorderly conduct and second-degree terroristic threatening, and transported to the Clark County Detention Center.

Thursday, July 11
Juvenile report: Domestic Disturbance/Noncriminal

10:16 a.m.
A female reported being the victim of domestic abuse, saying her boyfriend had struck her and knocked out her front teeth. The reporting officer did not observe any marks or bruises consistent with her story and was unable to locate the boyfriend’s name in a criminal information database.

Friday, July 12
Police investigated a residential burglary at the 1000 block of North 15th Street. No additional details were available as the public is not allowed to inspect felony incident reports at the Arkadelphia Police Department.

12:30 p.m.
A Gurdon woman reported a lost or stolen purse and wallet, which she last remembered having at either Walmart or Ridge Pointe Apartments at Henderson State University.

4:40 p.m.
A North 14th Street man reported the theft of a Husqvarna weed trimmer from his carport.

Juvenile report: Runaway

9:03 p.m.
Russell Dale Jackson, 44, of Delight, was arrested at Winner’s Circle, 3120 W. Pine St., for DWI following an off-duty deputy sheriff’s report of an impaired driver heading into town. The arresting officer followed Jackson’s vehicle from Park Hill Baptist Church on Highway 51 to its intersection with Pine Street, where Jackson reportedly drove onto the sidewalk at Chicken Express before traveling across all four lanes to Winner’s Circle and stopping at the propane exchange rack. Jackson failed sobriety tests and a breath sample indicated a blood alcohol level of 0.274%.

6:27 p.m.
A North 20th Street man reported vandalism to his vehicle.

Thursday, July 11
Jessica Milam, 35, was cited for violation of a nuisance animals ordinance following a neighbor’s complaints of her dogs acting aggressively and getting into her garbage. The citing deputy noted that he had previously responded to the Nunn Drive and gave a verbal warning.

Saturday, July 13
2 p.m.
A deputy responded to a Mill Creek Road residence for a report of harassment. The complainant said his neighbors had called the sheriff’s office several times about noise complaints. A check of the call log showed that there had been a “couple” of calls made over the last few years. The deputy advised any neighborhood gatherings need to be kept quiet after 10 p.m.

2:30 p.m.
A Highway 51 North woman reported unauthorized charges to her Apple account. 

Saturday, July 13
A Gurdon woman reported that her daughter moved out and left a dog behind, refusing to reclaim the canine. She said a scratch on her arm, caused by the pooch, required medical attention, and that she needed a report on file in order to take the relative to small claims court.
