Roy Wayne Ricketts, age 88, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at his home. He was born March 26, 1938, in Overton, TX, the son of the late Ezra and Minnie Mae Brown Ricketts.
Roy was a 1956 graduate of Gurdon Public Schools. He was a United States Air Force veteran. Roy was co-owner of Ricketts Trucking Co. Inc. He was a member and a Deacon of First Baptist Church of Gurdon. Roy enjoyed motorcycling and flying in his free time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ronnie Ricketts, two sisters, Peggy Baker and Laverne Berry, and one granddaughter, Alicia.
Survivors are his wife of sixty-eight years, Mary Ann Lockridge Ricketts of Gurdon, one son, Jerry Don Ricketts (Jane) of Curtis, one brother, Troy Dale Ricketts (Mary Frances) of Gurdon, daughter in law, Tammy Ricketts of Arkadelphia, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 25, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Gurdon with Bro. Randy Murphy officiating.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
Interment will be in South Fork Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Matt Ricketts, Jason Ricketts, Conner Ricketts, Steve Long, Chris Dulin and Brett Netherly.
Honorary pallbearers are Ezra Ricketts, Stephen Pennington and Troy Ricketts.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
