Luther Douglas Almond, age 70, of Bismarck, passed from this life on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at his home.

He was born October 11, 1952, in Prescott, the son of the late Luther David and Ruby Ward Almond. Doug was a 1970 graduate of Gurdon High School. He was a member of Country Church in Bismarck. Doug enjoyed woodworking and computers in his free time.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Eric Almond; his maternal grandfather, William Ward; his paternal grandfather, Sidney Almond; and siblings, William Sidney Almond, Delta Faye Almond, Ernest Wayne Schee, Victor Lynn Schee, Cynthia Louise Schee and Charles Ray Schee.

Survivors are his wife, Janice Rutherford Almond of Bismarck; one daughter, Ann Bryant (Jason) of Bismarck; two sons, Tracy Almond of Gurdon and Adam Almond of Bismarck; one sister, Nancy McClure of Gurdon; one brother, Donald Almond (Roxy) of Rison; nine grandchildren, Ashton, Whitey, Cole, Hannah and Jonathan Pennington, Stephanie Sheets, Jacob, Issac and Eric Almond Jr.; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, at Richland Cemetery with Bro. Don Key officiating.

No visitation is planned.

Pallbearers will be his family.
