Ralph Jerry Mann, 85, passed away on June 16, 2026 in Hot Springs, AR, surrounded by family and friends. The son of Ralph and Julia Mann of El Dorado, AR, Jerry was born on July 6, 1940 at Warner Brown Hospital. He grew up in El Dorado where he graduated from High School in 1957. He then graduated from Hendrix College in Conway with a major in biology. He graduated from medical school at UAMS in 1967 and went into the Navy to do a three-year residency in Family Medicine at Portsmouth, VA and Jacksonville, FL. He was stationed in Taipei, Taiwan for one year and attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Jerry married Mary Jo Stone. They had three children and moved back to the States to Memphis, TN and then to Arkadelphia, AR where he established a medical clinic with Partner John Bailey. After seven years of practice and delivering many, many babies, Jerry moved to Little Rock.
He opened a private practice for one year and then went to UAMS to work with the Family Practice Residency program. Jerry served all elected offices of the Arkansas Board of Family Practice Physicians including president. He then served on the American Board of Family Practice Physicians for six years. He also travelled nationally speaking on generic drug issues. Jerry took the position of Residency Director at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS and then ran a rural health clinic in Melbourne, AR. He then retired in 2020 due to health issues and moved back to southern AR to be close to family. Jerry was a lifelong lover of woodworking, motorcycles and especially family trips to Gaston’s Resort every year at Christmastime.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Deborah Kay Cullins, 4 children: Ralph Mann (Susan), Paul Mann (Dana), Beth Corley (Todd) and John Mann (Rachel). He was step-father to Robert Forrest (Jennifer) and Heather Moore (Dane). He has 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Jerry loved God, his country and his family.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Byron Mann and Rev. Zeke Allen officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM in the church parlor.
