Dispatch Desk: Evicted tenants leave landlords with damaged property

The following incidents were gathered from reports filed April 13-19, 2026, at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Arrested or cited individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names, so don’t even think about asking. 

Arkadelphia Police Department

Monday, April 13

10:52 a.m.
Police were called to Southview Apartments, 650 S. 5th St., for an unattended death of a 74-year-old female. The death was determined to be from natural causes.

4:30 p.m.
An officer heard a report of a domestic disturbance involving an unmarried couple. Police conducted a civil standby as the female complainant gathered her belongings.

Tuesday, April 14

1:28 p.m.
The landlord of a Clark Street rental property reported an evicted tenant had taken three window unit air-conditioners, as well as kitchen appliances, while moving out.

4:05 p.m.
An Optimum customer reported making a payment that was collected fraudulently by a third party in a card transaction made over the phone.

9:25 p.m.
An officer heard a woman’s complaint of harassing text messages sent by a known suspect. She was advised to contact the prosecutor’s office to pursue legal action.

10:33 p.m.
Police were called to Ridgecrest Apartments, 724 S. 10th St., where an evicted tenant had reportedly strewn litter on the stairwell and smeared fecal matter on her former door knob. Management was advised of the process to pursue charges.

Wednesday, April 15

8:14 a.m.
A woman reported being harassed and blackmailed by an ex lover.

8:28 a.m.
Officers took a South 5th Street man’s report that he had been struck by a car the previous day on 3rd Street. He said he went to the emergency room and was released as no injuries were found, but was sore today. He provided a partial license plate number of the suspect’s vehicle, as well as a first name and phone number.

12:41 p.m.
A woman reported a Golden Street man threatened her while she was walking her dog. She was advised of affidavit procedures.

Felony incident still under investigation: Financial identify fraud, 600 block of Main Street

Friday, April 17

11:30 a.m.
The theft of a red dot pistol optic was reported at Arkadelphia Pawn & Gun, 201 Robey St. The thieving customer reportedly took advantage of how busy the clerk was with other customers, removing the merchandise from its box and placing the empty box back on the display case before leaving the business.

Saturday, April 18

9:30 a.m.
A woman reported receiving threatening messages on Facebook Messenger from a known female. She was advised to block the offending party and to notify law enforcement should the harassment continue.

1:56 p.m.
A man reported being threatened by a known male. The victim showed officers security footage of the incident. The complainant was advised of civil process options he could pursue.

4:30 p.m.
An officer patrolling Caddo Street conducted a traffic stop at 12th Street on a pickup truck with a defective brake light. Approaching the vehicle, the officer got a whiff of marijuana and asked the driver to surrender any pot he had. The driver, Braeden Jaheim Thomas, 23, of Arkadelphia, handed over a cigar bag containing marijuana. A check of Thomas’s information through a crime database revealed an active order of protection on Thomas, with his passenger being the protected person. Thomas was arrested for violating the order and issued warnings for the drug possession and defective brake light.

Sunday, April 19

7 p.m.
The landlord of an O’Connell Street rental property reported vandalism to lawnmowers, a storm door and a dryer vent cover. A recently evicted tenant was named as a suspect.

9:14 p.m.
An Ashbury Court woman reported the theft of a mail package, suspecting a neighbor was responsible for the act.

Friday, April 17

7:04 a.m.
A deputy heard a Snyder Road couple’s complaint of a nuisance pit bull that frequents their property. The responding deputy noted that the dog paid a visit while she was hearing the complaint, and that it didn’t act aggressively — nor had it shown aggression toward other deputies who’d responded to the same complaint in the past. No action was taken.

6:05 p.m.
An ER patient reported she was sitting in her vehicle at Killingsworth Trailer Park when someone in an SUV reversed at high speed and collided with her, causing significant damage to her car. She was able to identify the driver from a photo police provided. A few hours later a second accident report, involving the same SUV, was called in from the suspect’s address. The caller was advised that the driver would need to visit the sheriff’s office to file a report.
