Wayne Dale Acrey, age 87, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at CHI St. Vincent Medical Center in Hot Springs. He was born April 30, 1938, in Searcy, the son of the late Jody and Celia Graham Acrey.
Dale was a member of First Baptist Church in Gurdon. He sold cars and worked as a mechanic most of his life. Dale just simply loved cars and being around them, so much so that they were also his greatest hobby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Clara Sue Acrey and one brother, Bill Acrey.
Dale is survived by one son, Jody Acrey (Cassondra) of Delight, three daughters, Vickie Acrey of Hot Springs, Peggy Nelson (John) of Hot Springs and Margaret Chavez (Tony) of Plunada, CA, one brother, Glen Acrey of Ward, one sister, Linda Ashford (Rick) of Benton, beloved friend, Dotty Green of Okolona, seven grandchildren, Melissa Suzanne Kelley, Jason Stewart, Jessica Berdak, Marcus Chavez, Taeler Brook Acrey, Kirstie Acrey and Lacy Watts, and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Murphy officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
