The life and legacy of Max Brown, a lifelong resident of Clark County and avid golfer, will live on at Henderson State University through the recently funded Max Brown Memorial Scholarship Endowment.
Brown tragically passed away in an automobile accident, leaving behind a strong network of family and friends who wanted to ensure that his memory would continue to make a lasting impact in the community he loved.
In Brown’s honor, an annual golf tournament fundraiser was created to support the scholarship endowment. Thanks to the generosity of participants, sponsors, and donors — including title sponsors Ken Duke and Family, the Cabe Foundation, and Taylor King Law — the $25,000 endowment is now fully funded.
The Max Brown Memorial Scholarship will benefit graduates of Arkadelphia, Gurdon, Centerpoint, or Ouachita high schools — the communities that meant so much to Brown throughout his life.
“We are deeply honored that Max’s memory will help open doors for future Reddies,” said Josh Kee, vice chancellor for development at Henderson State. “This scholarship not only celebrates who Max was, but it also ensures that his legacy continues to inspire and support generations to come.”
