Carolyn Jane Culp Bratton, age 84, of Gurdon, Arkansas, went to her Heavenly home on June 11, 2026. Carolyn was born on October 23, 1941, to Roy and Dove Culp of Gurdon.
She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Gurdon. Throughout her life, Carolyn was a dedicated public servant and community member. She worked for the Gurdon Public Schools, Gurdon Municipal Hospital, AP&L, the Clark County Assessor’s office, and the Clark County District Court until her retirement in 2004. Outside of her work, Carolyn loved spending time with her friends, crafting, thrifting, and camping. Above all else, her greatest joy in life was her family.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Dove Culp, and her loving husband of 51 years, Tommy Bratton.
She is survived by her children: One daughter, Jayne Ann Rountree and husband Doug of Hot Springs Village; and one son, Mark Bratton and wife Holly of Gurdon, her grandchildren: Elizabeth Weir and husband Ben of Trafalgar, IN; John Rountree and wife Lexie of Bryant; Sarah Bradley and husband Tyson of Jonesboro; and Payton Bratton and Bryce Bratton of Gurdon. Her great grandchildren: Ruby Dillman, Maggie Jo Dillman, Lawson Dillman, Marshall Bradley, Penny Weir, Everett Bradley, and Porter Rountree. Two Brothers: Randy Culp and his wife Linda of Russellville, and David Culp and wife Doris Ellen of North Little Rock.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday June 17, 2026, at Rose Hedge Cemetery in Gurdon with Bro. Rusty Jones officiating.
Pallbearers are John Rountree, Payton Bratton, Bryce Bratton, Jason Culp, Cory Culp, and Tom Clark Bratton.
