Original Arkansas Constitution to be on display during celebration of Clark County Courthouse’s 125th anniversary

The Clark County Historical Association invites the community to the Clark County Courthouse for a special celebration on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m.

The event will recognize the 125th anniversary of the Clark County Courthouse, a “We the People” exhibit and a special program presented for the public.

Highlights of the event will include guests remarks by Dr. David Ware, State Historian and Director of the Arkansas State Archives; Dr. Wendy Richter, former State Historian and Director of the Arkansas State Archives; and Clark County Judge Troy Tucker. 

This exhibit from the Arkansas State Archives is coming to the Clark County Courthouse to showcase specimen pages of the original 1874 Arkansas Constitution, approved over 150 years ago. With this exhibit, Arkansans will have the opportunity to view handwritten documents from several historical Arkansas documents.

The “We the People” exhibit will be on display in the courthouse from noon Monday, Feb. 3, until 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4. 

The exhibit is sponsored by the Clark County Historical Association.
