An officer patrolling Forrest Park Drive and Millcreek Drive observed a silver SUV disobey a stop sign and fail to use a blinker to turn onto Forrest Park. Initiating the emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle proceeded west on Forrest Park and came to a complete stop at Pinnacle Drive, but continued traveling west. Another motorist in front of the SUV stopped; the fleeing motorist sped around and continued west, ultimately pulling into a driveway at 2403 Forrest Park Dr. The officer made contact with the driver, 41-year-old Stacy Elaine Warner, and asked why she didn’t stop despite the lights and sirens. Warner replied that she had the right to pull over anywhere she wanted to. Instructed multiple times to step out of the vehicle, Warner reached for something in the glove compartment as Officer Chase Kersey grabbed her arm and told her again to exit the vehicle. She attempted to pull her arm back and refused to step out of the car. Kersey used the least amount of force necessary to remove Warner from the SUV, telling her multiple times to stop resisting, finally holding her hands behind her back and putting her against the car to stop the resisting. Another officer arrived and assisted in detaining Warner, who was put in the back of a patrol car. Warner was cited for fleeing, failure to obey a stop sign, and failure to obey a police officer, and released at the scene.
