ARKADELPHIA, Arkansas — Henderson State University will host the 97th Battle of the Ravine this Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024. The Ouachita Baptist University Tigers will march across US Highway 67/North 10th Street for college football’s most intimate rivalry.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium. Promotional materials may have the kickoff time at 2 p.m., but the Reddies changed the time to 1 p.m. to align with the rest of its home afternoon games.
Parking
Several different parking options are available for Reddies fans. CADC SCAT buses will be staged at the corner of 12th and Wilson streets two hours prior to kickoff, allowing fans to use the parking lots around Henderson’s main campus. The free shuttles will travel down 12th street and drop fans off in two locations: the front of the Wells Center on M.H. Russell Drive, for those who wish to partake in pregame activities, and at the main gate to Carpenter-Haygood Stadium. The shuttles will also run up to an hour after the game ends, allowing fans to board at the main gate as they exit and ride back to their cars on campus.
The two other available public parking lots are the Formby Center lot, located directly in front of the Formby Athletic Complex and next to the Reddie Villas, and the South Wells Center lot, located directly in front of the Duke Wells Center.
For Reddie Club members, Red and Gray reserved lots are located directly behind the main stands and above Clyde Berry Field. These lots require your Reddie Club parking passes. Handicapped parking is also available in the Red and Gray lot directly behind the main stands.
For those with a 2024 Cliff Harris Stadium parking pass, the stadium lot will open at 9 a.m. The gravel lot and others will be open on a first-come, first-served basis.
Battle of the Ravine Tailgating
Tigers fans: Tailgating will begin early Saturday morning in and around Cliff Harris Stadium. Ouachita’s Sodexo Food Services will serve lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the concourse of Cliff Harris Stadium. Ouachita students and staff with a meal plan can swipe with their ID card. The cost for all others is $10.
Reddies fans: Tailgating events on the Henderson State campus will begin on Saturday morning. Fans are invited to Sodexo’s pregame tailgate meal at the red and white tents in front of the Duke Wells Center from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Saturday’s game day sponsor, Pepsi, will also have a tailgating area set up in the parking lot next to the Duke Wells Center featuring an inflatable football toss and a variety of free Pepsi products.
Tickets for Battle of the Ravine
Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students K-12. Children five and under receive free admission.
All Henderson State students, faculty and staff receive free admission with their Reddie Total Ticket.
All current Ouachita students are admitted for free with their ID at the gates of Carpenter-Haygood Stadium. Ouachita faculty and staff must buy a ticket.
All ticketed seating is general admission and on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tickets and can be purchased online at www.hsusports.com/tickets. Tickets can also be purchased at the Cliff Harris Stadium ticket booth starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The gates and ticket booths at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium will open at 11 a.m.
The Walk
The Tigers will leave their locker room at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Saturday for the walk across Highway 67 to Carpenter-Haygood Stadium. Fans are encouraged to line the path and cheer for the team during the walk.
The Battle of the Ravine series
The Tigers lead the all-time Battle of the Ravine series 46-44-6. Ouachita has won seven of the last 10 meetings, including a six-year win streak from 2016-2022. The Reddies beat the Tigers 31-27 in last year’s meeting at Cliff Harris Stadium.
Henderson State now looks to secure nine wins for the fourth time in the last five seasons. The Reddies have won six straight games at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium, including all five of their home games in 2024.
A win for the Tigers on Saturday would give Ouachita its fifth season in program history of at least 10 wins, at least a share of the 2024 Great American Conference championship, and a spot in the NCAA Division II playoffs in addition to bragging rights for at least a year in Arkadelphia.
Ouachita is 9-1 heading into Saturday’s game following a 55-0 road victory over Oklahoma Baptist. HSU is 8-2 after beating Southwestern Oklahoma State at home last Saturday by a score of 35-17.

The game can be heard on the Ouachita Football Radio Network originating at KARN-FM 102.9 in Little Rock and available on 10 different stations throughout the state of Arkansas.
