The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Monday, Oct. 7
12:40 p.m.
An officer took a report of a Greater Tate Temple Church van that had been tampered with. Mechanics had determined someone had gained access to the engine compartment and removed spark plug wires.
12:41 p.m.
Police took a delayed report of a domestic disturbance.

Tuesday, Oct. 8
10:39 a.m.
An Ervin Cable Construction supervisor reported the theft of a single-axle utility trailer, either 10 or 12 feet long, from 1140 Main St. The theft happened sometime between June 2022 and the time of the report.
Police took a report of online fraud. The incident, listed as a felony investigation, did not include additional details.
12:17 p.m.
A Chicago woman reported she has been unable to make contact with her mother, Renethea Moore, 60, of Arkadelphia. Officers went to two of Moore’s last known places of residence and learned that new occupants now reside at both places. A check with the Arkadelphia Housing Authority was also fruitless. Moore was listed in a state and national database as a missing person.
Police investigated a report of firearm theft at a North 16th Street residence. No further details were available as the incident was listed as a felony under investigation.
Wednesday, Oct. 9
Police investigated a report of terroristic threatening at a 7th Street location. Additional details weren’t available because the Arkadelphia Police Department does not disclose felony incident reports.
8:14 a.m.
A 911 call summoned officers to the 1800 block of Caddo Street for a domestic disturbance involving a gun. Upon arrival officers observed the suspect run into the woods at South 19th Street. Police established a perimeter in the area, but called off the search by 9:15 a.m. It’s noted in the report that the 911 caller was “aggressive and verbally abusive” to officers and asked them to leave her property. At 11:45 a.m. the suspect who fled into the woods, Alunzo Leeper, turned himself in at the Clark County Sheriff’s Office for unrelated felony warrants, which he said was the reason for evading police. He denied any involvement with a firearm during the domestic disturbance. Leeper was issued a citation for misdemeanor fleeing and left in the custody of jail staff.
Noon
Officers were requested at Walmart, where an active shoplifting was reported. Upon police arrival, store personnel had already detained the shoplifters, Shawn Charlton and Mary Henderson, both of Hannibal, Missouri. The pair were taken into custody and cited for theft of property for taking $29 worth of merchandise.
Thursday, Oct. 10
8:41 p.m.
A Friendship Drive woman reported someone fraudulently used her debit card or bank account information to withdraw more than $400.
Police investigated an aggravated assault at the 1500 block of Gresham Street. Additional details were not available as the incident is listed as a felony under investigation.
Friday, Oct. 11
7:53 a.m.
A resident at the 3200 block of West Pine Street reported his mailbox had been smashed, likely by an 18-wheeler that turned around at the property.
Juvenile report: Noncriminal domestic
Police investigated the theft of a motor vehicle at the 1500 block of North 10th Street. Additional details of the felony incident were not included in the report.
11:47 a.m.
Officers went to Burger King for a report of a Ferrell Gas truck whose cargo became lodged under the awning of the first drive-thru window. A piece of pipe was used to free the vehicle without causing further damage. The driver, who was assigned to a different truck that day, said that if he’d had it his way he wouldn’t have been driving such a whopper-sized vehicle.
12:10 p.m.
Officers responded to a disturbance at Walnut Square Apartments, 1010 S. 16th St., where an agitated male had cut his wrist during an apparent fit of rage. After an ambulance transported him to the hospital for stitches, officers spoke with the complainant, who advised she did not want to pursue charges.
Sunday, Oct. 13
7 a.m.
Police and paramedics were summoned to Andy’s Restaurant, where a pedestrian had been struck by a Chevy Silverado pulling into the parking lot. The pedestrian, a 92-year-old male, was awake and oriented and trying to get up when the reporting officer arrived on scene and while multiple people rendered aid. He was transported to the hospital. Police spoke with the driver, who said he did not see the pedestrian.

9:56 a.m.
A deputy was called to a Smyrna Road (Okolona) deer camp for a report of a burglary. Items stolen included a 6×12 rusted utility trailer, four hunting blinds, a water tank and clothing.

3:40 a.m.
A Charity Road (Hearn) woman reported a known male took her vehicle — a 2011 Cadillac CTS — without her permission, and possibly took the car to Pine Bluff.
