Clark County inmates held in the Arkansas prison system

As of Oct. 1, 2024, there were 325 people listed as Clark County inmates by the Arkansas Department of Corrections website.

There are eight fewer Clark County inmates since September. The inmates are distributed among several institutions throughout the state.

There are 22 Clark County inmates serving life sentences or life without parole.

The total includes 303 men and 22 women. There are 160 white inmates, 159 black inmates and six of other races.

The following Clark County inmates have a parole- or transfer-eligible date in October 2024, although there are several factors that could affect any individual release for months or years.

Ferderria Cook, 28, is serving a 6-year sentence at Pine Bluff Unit’s work release program. She was convicted in April 2023 for possession of a controlled substance and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. Cook and a male, Zykeea Todd, were arrested at a North 15th Street residence in June 2022 after execution of a search warrant yielded more than 500 grams of marijuana, as well as a loaded .38 caliber revolver and an assortment of painkillers.

Terry J. Cox, 50, is serving a 9-year sentence at the Ouachita River Correctional Unit in Malvern for a May 2024 conviction in Hempstead County for drug possession. Cox has a 2021 conviction in Clark County for drug possession.

Israel Gardea, 25, is serving 2 years at the Ouachita River Correctional Unit for a 2024 conviction in Hot Spring County for probation revocation. Gardea had been sentenced to probation in Clark County in 2022.

Convicted in 2024, Michael Hale, 32, is on the Nevada County waiting list to serve a 4-year sentence for three drug-related charges, including possession with purpose to deliver.

Ted Pate, 34, is serving 10 years at the Ester Unit for a 2022 conviction of residential burglary and second-degree battery. According to court documents, Pate forced his way into a North 10th Street home in December 2021 and, using a flashlight, beat a male resident who told Pate was unwelcome there.

Tommy J. Pennington, 30, is on the Montgomery County waiting list to serve a 3-year sentence for a conviction of terroristic threatening and violating a protection order. Pennington served probation in Clark County starting in 2021.

Colby Vanlandingham, 36, is serving 3 years at the Ouachita River Correctional Unit for a pair of 2024 convictions out of Pulaski County for aggravated assault and terroristic threatening. Vanlandingham has prior criminal history in Clark County.
