Dispatch Desk: March 11-18

The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Monday, March 11
11:45 a.m.
A South 10th Street woman reported that her son, recently removed from the house, returned and stole a ceramic heater.

12:15 p.m.
A hit-and-run parking lot accident was reported at Ellison Place Apartments, 222 N. 20th St.

12:48 p.m.
A woman who recently broke up with her boyfriend reported being followed to a Walnut Street address, where she obeyed his commands to pull over. She said she cracked her window just enough to talk, and that he grabbed the window and broke it. She was advised of warrant and no-contact order procedures.

3:01 p.m.
A hit-and-run parking lot accident was reported at The Gossip Shop, 416 Main St.

Juvenile: Theft less than $1,000, fleeing, obstructing governmental operations

Wednesday, March 13
3:35 p.m.
A clerk at Winner’s Circle, 104 N. 10th St., reported a regular customer shoplifted a case of beer and fled in a green car. Police were able to identify the suspect based on the nickname the clerk provided. No other information was provided at the time the report was written.

Thursday, March 14
8:19 a.m.
An officer was requested at the Arkadelphia Housing Authority office, 670 S. 6th St., where the property manager reported a tenant made threatening remarks. The tenant, it was noted, was in the process of being evicted.

Friday, March 15
7:16 a.m.
A manager at Stuckey’s/Road Runner, 3111 W. Pine St., reported a customer shoplifted $33 worth of sodas and snacks and got into a white SUV that fled east on Pine Street. The suspect had put the merchandise on the counter to be rung up and bagged, then went outside, only to return and snatch the bag.

1:50 p.m.
A serial shoplifter recently arrested at Walmart struck again, this time at Brookshire’s, where the store director reported she had stolen more than $500 worth of groceries over the course of several trips to the supermarket. Police advised the manager of affidavit and warrant procedures.

5:41 p.m.
A woman told police she had been blackmailed by an ex-boyfriend.

St. Patrick’s Day
10:34 p.m.
A Paris, Arkansas, woman reported her ex-girlfriend took her vehicle without permission while the former was shopping at Walmart. Police confronted the suspect at her home on Highway 67. She relinquished the vehicle and was advised to park it at the Gurdon Marshal’s Office, then was free to go. The complainant was advised of the vehicle’s location and of warrant procedures.

Friday, March 15
12:30 p.m.
A Highway 53 N, Gurdon, man reported a known male and female paid him a visit, demanding money and making threats. The suspects were gone upon deputies’ arrival.

Saturday, March 16
9:28 a.m.
Dillon Curtis Derry, 28, of Arkadelphia, was arrested on foot near Footsie’s Beer & Wine, 29 Meeks Road, Okolona. Derry was wanted in Texas for unlisted charges by the Marshal Fugitive Task Force. He was tazed during the arrest.

St. Patrick’s Day
1:31 p.m.
A Sandy Road man reported his hound was attacked by a pit bull.

Timothy Aundra Noel, 33, Caddo Valley Police Department, failure to register, driving with a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance

Anthony Anderson, 58, Gurdon Marshal’s Office, continued detention

Friday, March 15
Brian Kesty, 53, CVPD, possession of a controlled substance, no seat belt, driving with a suspended license

Johnny Anderson, 41, continued detention

Shanna Utzler, 51, Arkadelphia Police Department, failure to appear for trial, failure to comply with terms of probation

Saturday, March 16
Brendan Horton, 35, CVPD, failure to comply with terms of probation
