Betty Sue (Castleman) Hood, age 91, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at The Plaza at Twin Rivers in Arkadelphia. She was born May 5, 1932, in Hempstead County, the daughter of the late David Monroe and Sarah Maroon Castleman.
Betty was a retired public school teacher and librarian. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Arkadelphia. Betty enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening and most of all spending time with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bob Hood.
Betty is survived by one son, Jeff Hood (Sarah) of Fayetteville, two daughters, Paige Hood (Lynn) of Atlanta, GA, and Sarah Teed (Frank) of Arkadelphia, six grandchildren, Courtney Hood, Eric Hood (Lindsey), John Teed (Catalina), Elizabeth Teed, Will Teed and Colt Hood, and one brother, Mike Castleman of Sherwood.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 26, 2024, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Zeke Allen officiating.
Visitation will be private.
