Leola Booy, age 93, of Donaldson passed from this life on Thursday February 8, 2024, at Alcoa Pines Health & Rehabilitation in Benton Arkansas. She was born on March 9, 1930, in the Red Springs Community of Gurdon. She is the daughter of the late Luther and Susie Smith Jones.
Leola worked in the housekeeping department and retired after many happy years from Ouachita Baptist University. She loved working in her yard, growing flowers and most enjoyed her fur-babies and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
Leola is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arvin Booy and her children’s father Ted Green, grandson, Jay McCafferty, two brothers, Horace Jones, and Luther Jones, three sisters, Susie Pearl, Marie Dixon & Floy Kusturin, two brothers in law, Roy Dixon and Joe Kusturin and two sisters in law, Betty L Jones and Sara Jones.
Survivors are one son, David Green (Jonnell) of Opelousas, LA, three daughters, Debbie McCafferty (Eddie) of Leland, NC, Terry Babineaux (Jasper) of Opelousas, LA and Rhonda Schuster of Opelousas, LA and two step daughters, Dawn Cansler (Daniel) of Little Rock, Glorie Thornton (Dennis) of Bismarck, two brothers, James Jones (Ann) of Gurdon, and Harold Jones of Gurdon, and one sister-in-law, Betty Jo Jones. Eight grandchildren, Kassi Dupre (John),Jason McCafferty (Eileen), Joey McCafferty, Kellie Ebersole (John) and Tracy Frey (Matt), Emily Dillon (Ty), Ryan Thornton (Nikki), Jonathan Cansler, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren & many loving nieces & nephews.
Funeral will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday February 13, 2024, at Welch’s Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Bro. Darryle Sultan officiating.
Interment will be at Prairie Bayou Cemetery in New DeRoach
Visitation is from 10:00 AM until service time on Tuesday.
Pallbearers are John Dupre, Bryson Fruge, Parker Fruge, Daniel Cansler, Mark Travis & Brayden Fischer.
