William Van Tweedle, age 67, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023, at Arkansas Hospice Inpatient Center in St. Vincent’s Infirmary in Little Rock. He was born Sept. 17, 1956, in Arkadelphia, the son of the late William Herschel and Elizabeth Sallee Tweedle.

Van was a former volunteer fireman for Hollywood Fire Department. He was a retired carpenter and construction worker in and around Arkadelphia for many years. Van was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing music, flying his RC planes, dirt biking and riding motorcycles.

Van was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara Jean Tweedle.

Survivors are two children, William Derek Tweedle of Arkadelphia and Kristen Paige Tweedle of Little Rock; two sisters, Sharon Duncan of Nashville and Jan McCray of Benton.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. just prior to the service.
