
A period of freezing rain appears likely Monday morning for parts of The Natural State, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock. At least a tenth of an inch of ice is possible in northern and western Arkansas.
Arctic air will spill into Arkansas on Friday, and stick around through the weekend. This cold air mass will exit to the east early next week, with clouds and moisture increasing. Rain will develop on Monday, and will likely begin as freezing rain in the morning.
Minimum wind chill index values Friday night/Saturday morning will be in the single digits above and below zero statewide. In Arkadelphia and much of Southwest Arkansas, the wind chill will be about 6˚F.
