The Arkadelphia City Board of Directors met Tuesday, Aug. 18, with four of the seven-member board present.
At the conclusion of a light agenda, directors convened in executive session to discuss an annual review of City Manager Gary Brinkley’s job performance, returning a little over an hour later to reconvene in public. No action was action. Mayor Scott Byrd said the board would meet again in executive session at its Sept. 2 meeting to further discuss the review.
In other city business, directors gave unanimous approval of a resolution allowing for increased reimbursement to the Group 6 Narcotics Enforcement Unit. The increase to compensation to the police department’s drug task force officer, Lt. Brent Whitworth, is due to funding available through the Arkansas governor’s office.
The resolution allows for an annual pay increase of $7,000 and a $1,200 monthly vehicle lease so long as the state funding continues.
