Arvin Lee Booy, age 84, of Donaldson, passed from this life on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton. He was born September 2, 1939, in Pella, IA, the son of the late William and Emily (Uitermarkt) Booy.
Arvin was a 1956 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. He served in the United States Army National Guard from 1957 to 1963. Arvin was retired from OBU maintenance Dept and was a self-employed carpenter for many years. He was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
Arvin was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife of twenty-three years, Lana Dalby Booy, grandson, Jay McCafferty, brother, Jim Booy, two sisters, Shirley Nichols and Janice Rentschler.
Survivors are his wife, Leola Jones Booy of Donaldson, two daughters, Glorie Thornton (Dennis) of Bismarck and Dawn Cansler (Daniel) of Little Rock, one step-son, David Green (Jonnell) of Oppaloosa, LA, three step-daughters, Debbie McCafferty (Eddie) of Leland, NC, Terry Babineaux (Jasper) of Oppaloosa, LA and Rhonda Schuster of Oppaloosa, LA, three brothers, Harold Booy (Evelyn) of Mt Home, Alfred Booy (Carol) of Oskaloosa, IA and Ray Booy of Chatham, NY, one sister, Marlene Wiener of Ankeny, IA, eight grandchildren, Ryan Thornton (Nikki), Kassi Dupre (John), Emily Dillon (Ty), Jonathan Cansler, Jason McCafferty (Eileen), Joey McCafferty, Kellie Ebersole (John) and Tracy Frey (Matt), sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Doyle Caldwell and Bro. Darryle Sultan officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Prairie Bayou Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Ryan Thornton, Dennis Thornton, Daniel Cansler, Ty Dillon, Brayden Fisher and Mark Travis.
