Clark County tow truck driver arrested for DWI

A Clark County tow truck driver was arrested after responding to a dispatch while under the influence, local law enforcement said.

On Sunday afternoon, Arkansas State Police summoned a wrecker service to the 79 westbound mile-marker of Interstate 30, north of the Caddo Valley exit, to tow away a disabled vehicle. The towing company next in the police rotation of wreckers was Bypass Diesel & Wrecker, a Nashville-based company that recently expanded its operation to a shop on Highway 8 near Amity.

The tow truck driver, 44-year-old Daniel Kight, arrived at the scene at 4 p.m. He was taken into custody 3 minutes later on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, according to Clark County Sheriff Jason Watson. The tow truck was hauled away to impound by another local wrecker service.

Kight was arrested and transported to the Clark County Detention Service and booked on charges of CDL DWI, or driving while intoxicated and holding a Commercial Driver’s License or Commercial Learner’s Permit.
