The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Sunday, July 9
5:38 a.m.
A resident of Mill Creek Apartments, 1647 Welch St., reported the possible theft of his pickup truck. After further investigation it was determined and confirmed that the vehicle had been towed away for repossession.
Friday, July 7
1:09 p.m.
Police were summoned to Pine Courts, 120 N. 20th St., for a report of a female beating on a storm door so hard that its latch fell off. Officers made contact with the suspect, who said she was there to confront the residents (the report did not indicate what the confrontation was about). The complainant was advised of warrant procedures to follow up with criminal charges.
3 p.m.
A Country Club Road woman reported her brother took her government-issued cell phone, which she had just had delivered, while she was in the hospital and would not give it back.
Officers responded to a welfare concern involving a juvenile.
7:10 p.m.
A domestic disturbance reported at Mill Creek Apartments turned out to be a heated argument a couple was having over money.
8:42 p.m.
Derenzo Deshon Preston, 29, of Delight, was cited at Walmart for shoplifting cans of beer and mixed drinks.
Thursday, July 6
Police opened a felony investigation into the abuse of an adult.
11:39 a.m.
A hit-and-run parking lot accident was reported at the 900 block of US 67 South.
12:04 p.m.
A woman reported damage was done to her vehicle while it was parked at Walmart. The incident happened a week prior to her making the report.

6:11 a.m.
An Ashbury Court man reported someone slashed all four tires on his vehicle, and showed police text messages indicating a known female had made threats and mentioned his tires.

Saturday, July 8
2:50 a.m.
Melvin Joe Hatley, 25, of Gurdon, was arrested at East Maple Street and US 67 for DWI following an investigation of a two-vehicle accident near the Georgia-Pacific plant. The other driver told the deputy she had been rear-ended. Hatley was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident, careless and prohibited driving and no proof of insurance.

Deputies investigated a report of the theft of five firearms from a structure at Lone Pine Road, Whelen Springs.
