Young passenger dies in Hot Springs crash

An Arkansas youth died as a result of a Hot Springs car crash that left another person injured around midnight Friday.

The minor who died in the accident was listed as a passenger of a 2010 Buick LaCrosse driven by Elizabeth Tabora Hill, 21, of Hot Springs.

Hill was traveling westbound on Highway 70-B/Airport Road and attempting to pass a vehicle in the center turn lane, according to a fatal crash summary filed by the Hot Springs Police Department. She lost control of the vehicle and struck a curb, sending the vehicle airborne and into an overhead railroad crossing signal before it overturned.

The passenger was pronounced deceased at CHI St. Vincent’s hospital. Hill was also taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The accident happened at 11:59 p.m. Friday, March 17, under clear skies and on dry roads, according to Officer Shawn D. Lowrey who investigated the accident.
