Victims in rape case now total 19

By Joe May | The Southern Standard

There are now 19 official victims in the case against Glenwood businessman and former medical doctor Barry Alan Walker, Clark County Prosecutor Dan Turner said.

With 21 felony counts — 19 victims and more coming forward — Turner said the case is the largest underage sex case that he has seen during his tenure in South Arkansas.

In the latest filing in Clark County, a girl under 14 told authorities that the suspect had sexually violated her in numerous ways from 2009-11 and recorded videos of the attacks on a hard drive.

The alleged crimes took place at Walker’s then-home on Sugar Loaf Road in Amity. Walker was first convicted of sexual acts against children in 1999 in Fort Smith.

He was arrested in 2014 in Clark County, but a case could not be made at that time due to conflicting victim statements. He was arrested in June following the execution of a search warrant on his Industrial Drive home in Glenwood by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.

Garland County officials are also looking into allegations of illicit conduct in that locality, Turner said.

  1. He should have never been released from his first offense………should have been sentenced to life in prison then😡😡😡

    1. 100%! This is proof of why you never let pedophiles out. They never change and always start looking for their next victim as soon as they get back onto the streets. State law needs to be changed to make life in prison the mandatory minimum for sex crimes, especially against children. To think Pike County elected a prosecutor who tried to take him off the registry (so he could get to more kids)… sick and evil! Satan is at work, please pray for this country!
