Reddies cross country finishes season at Lois Davis Invite

The Henderson State cross country program finished its regular season in Magnolia with the Lois Davis Invitational. The Reddies finished fourth out of eight teams at the event.

HSU saw a score of 112, defeating Arkansas-Pine Bluff by 19 points and GAC-foe Arkansas-Monticello by 90 points. The Reddies finished the 2022 season with a second-place finish, two third-place finishes and one fourth-place finish.

Heidy Galvan paced Henderson with her second best finish of the season at eighth place for her second Top-10 finish this season after she ran her 5K in 20:28.5, keeping a 6:35.0 mile. Galvan scored five points with her finish.

Freshman Faith Atchenson capped off her freshman year with a 28th place finish, crossing the finish line at 22:23.3. Martha Mosqueda, in her final collegiate regular season meet, followed closely behind for 34th (22:52.6).

Tessa Kuykendall saw a 39th-place finish (23:50.3) before Kristina Kozlova (25:11.8) and Taylor Long (25:32.3) finished on one another’s heels for a spot at 53rd and 54th, respectively. Marianna Barona Murcia rounded out the Reddie runners with a 30:38.2 finish for 74th.

Henderson St. will put the finishing touches on the 2022 season with the Great American Conference Championship Meet in Shawnee, Oklahoma Saturday, Nov. 5.
