Reddies ranked 24th in DII preseason poll

ARKADELPHIA — After posting back-to-back nine-win seasons in 2019 and 2021, Henderson State was ranked No. 24 in College Football America’s 2022 Division II Preseason Top-30 Poll.

The Reddies are one of three Great American Conference teams in the poll, joining No. 11 Harding and No. 27 Ouachita Baptist.

Henderson finished 9-2 last season and had one of the top offenses in the country. The Reddies led the GAC in scoring (40.5 points per game) and passing yards per game (311.2).

HSU returns 12 starters from its 2021 team, but must replace unanimous First Team All-American receiver L’liott Curry and Second Team All-GAC quarterback Adam Morse.

The Reddies kick off the 2022 season on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. when they host Southwestern Oklahoma State at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium and GeoSurfaces Field.
