Reddies remain at No. 6 in final Region Rankings

ARKADELPHIA β€” For the third-straight week, Henderson State held steady at No. 6 in the Central Region Rankings, setting up a win-to-get-in game on Saturday against rival Ouachita Baptist.

The Reddies, who moved up to No. 13 today in the AFCA poll, can all but clinch their first NCAA DII Playoff berth since 2015 with a victory over the No. 20 Tigers on Saturday inside Cliff Harris Stadium. A victory would improve Henderson to 10-1 on the year and would also give HSU a share of its first conference title since 2015.

OBU dropped to No. 10 in the final regional rankings, while Southeastern Oklahoma State climbed up to No. 8. Harding stayed put at No. 2 and is the only GAC program in line to host an opening-round playoff game as of the current rankings.

The NCAA DII Playoff bracket will be unveiled next Sunday, Nov. 14, following the completion of all regular season games on Saturday. The top seven teams in the region will make the playoffs. The No. 1 seed will receive a first round bye and seeds No. 2-4 will host first round games.

Henderson and Ouachita will meet with both teams’ seasons hanging in the balance on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the 94th Battle of the Ravine.
