Reddies No. 6 in First Central Region Rankings

ARKADELPHIA β€” Henderson State, following a 7-1 start to the season, came in at No. 6 in the first NCAA DII Central Region Rankings on Monday afternoon.

The Reddies, who moved up to No. 18 in the latest AFCA Coaches Poll earlier today, are one of four Great American Conference teams listed in the initial Central Region Rankings, alongside No. 4 Harding, No. 8 Ouachita Baptist and No. 10 Southeastern Oklahoma State.

The Central Region is comprised of teams from four conferences: the GAC, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), and the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).

The top seven teams in the final regional rankings at the end of the regular season will earn a spot in the 2021 NCAA DII Playoffs. The No. 1 seed will receive a first round bye and the No. 2-4 seeds will host first round playoff games.

Henderson is in search of its first playoff berth since 2015, when the Reddies hosted two home playoff games and earned the first NCAA postseason win in program history over Sioux Falls.
