Showers and thunderstorms are looking likely Wednesday and Thursday, July 29-30, as a high pressure system shifts, ushering in chances for rain across Arkansas, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock.
Storms are expected to be scattered. Any rainfall will be beneficial, likely assisting with some temperature relief due to increased cloud cover.
Arkadelphia’s forecast is calling for a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms beginning Wednesday afternoon under otherwise partly sunny skies and a scorching heat index value as high as 105. Precipitation chances increase to 30% after midnight under mostly cloudy skies.
Thursday looks to be more promising for wet weather, with a 40% chance under otherwise partly sunny skies and a high near 91.
Slight chances for rain and possible thunderstorms continue Friday into Saturday.
A Heat Advisory remains in effect for the Arkadelphia area through 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 28.
