Local manufacturers advance in ‘Coolest Thing Made in Arkansas’ contest

The Arkadelphia Alliance and Area Chamber of Commerce announced this week that two Clark County manufacturers, Georgia-Pacific and The J.M. Smucker Co., have advanced to the Exceptional 8 round of the fifth annual ‘Coolest Thing Made in Arkansas’ competition. Presented by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce/AIA and Arkansas Business, the contest celebrates The Natural State’s rich manufacturing history and highlights some of the amazing products manufactured in Arkansas.

Out of dozens of initial nominees, Georgia-Pacific’s structural building products and The J.M. Smucker Co.’s iconic Hostess Donettes have captured top spots, placing Clark County firmly in the spotlight.

Both products are now head-to-head with competitors in a single-elimination tournament to determine the ultimate winner. With round matchups underway, local community support will prove decisive in moving both manufacturers forward.

Exceptional eight voting ends Aug. 21 with the competition continuing to the Featured Four, and finally the ultimate winner will be revealed on Nov. 17 during the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting. The winning product will also be featured on coolestthinginarkansas.com.
